Chilling during summer

It’s important to take time to rest throughout your week, even during lower pressure periods like the summer holidays. To encourage rest, I have a new challenge for you that requires minimal effort.

In one of your upcoming weekends, have a rest break of 30 minutes to an hour, where you plan to do nothing. So, no running quick errands, no tidying up any rooms, no dusting, and no other things that you would normally do ‘just really quick’ when you have some time off.

Instead, choose to sit down, get comfortable, and do nothing, or do something you enjoy, but you normally feel too busy for.

For me, that means turning on my record player, listening to an album, and drinking something delicious. For you, it can mean all kinds of things! Like reading, playing games, taking a nap, watching a series, or something else entirely unproductive.

To be unproductive from time to time is a blessing, because we cannot always be productive. I can imagine you sometimes feel like you cannot sit down for a minute, but those are the times these breaks are most important!

So, I encourage you, plan your breaks, and do nothing for a bit!
