As summers are getting increasingly hot it’s important to be aware of your personal health when you’re out and about in the sun or heat.
Here are some tips to keep your head cool and your skin unburnt during the hot months of the holiday season.
- Use 50+ SPF/sunscreen (I know, I know)
- Wear a hat or something above your head to avoid overheating or burning your scalp
- Drink sufficient water and bring a bottle.
- Did you know there’s water bags you can clip to your pants? That way, they’re not heavy when they’re empty, or taking up loads of space in your bag.
- Wear sunglasses. Helps avoid eye strain, and makes you look cool!
- Put a wet towel in your neck/over your shoulders. Nice and cool, and covers you from direct sun
- Take a dive in a pool, cold shower, or other colder body of water (remember to re-apply SPF afterwards)
- Relaxing is good, avoid high-intensity exercise!
- If you sit down or stay in the same place for a longer while, avoid sitting in the sun
