To get to know each other a bit more, we have launched this new section called ‘Who is Who’. Hopefully we can feature all our colleagues over here. Submit your profile via this link! Every Wednesday we will post someone else. Enjoy reading!
How long have you been working for TKH Airport Solutions?
1.5 years
What can you tell us about your role in TKH Airport Solutions?
I’m one of the directors, primarily focused on sales.
What does your typical workday look like?
There’s no typical workday I would say, except during these Corona times when we always start the day with our daily sales call.
What specialism can you offer to your colleagues?
I’ve worked in many different countries with a lot of different cultures and people. So I’m not easily swept off my feet and usually bring my endeavours to a good end.
Can you tell us a bit about your personal life? Family, hobbies, etc.
I’m married to Nynke, she’s a doctor at the hospital in Groningen and we live in Haren, NL. We have three young kids: Matthijs, Anne-Floor and Pepijn plus a 4-month old puppy. Life is often a bit hectic especially as have to combine Nynke’s weekend and night shifts with my travel and taking care of the kids.
What is on top of your bucket list?
Crossing the Atlantic Ocean in a sailing boat
What is your favorite travel destination?
Home
What can somebody wake you up for at night?
Building & repairing stuff. Anything from electronics to working on a car engine, an old tractor, you name it.
What does a typical Sunday look like for you?
The only day a week without obligations. We have breakfast together, and after that I would probably go and work on the house a bit, do some work in the garden etc. A project currently on hand is building an irrigation system for the garden.
What is the best advice that you ever received?
Try to see one beautiful thing a day: a tree, a beautiful sky, a nice sunset, and just realise for a minute how special it is. It will help put things in perspective and keep stress away.
What else do your colleagues not know about you yet?
I’ve sailed on board of the ss Rotterdam for a year, the last steam-powered cruise ship of the Holland America Line. So anybody looking for tips on how to sail a steamship: I’m your man.
