What excites you the most about joining TKH Airport Solutions?
The focus on innovation and sustainability of this company is something that excites me the most about working at the company. I feel like I can learn a lot from peers within the company about these topics during my internship, which in turn can be really powerful for my professional career later on.
I also have a passion for traveling. I try to travel to a different country every year! Joining a company that focuses on innovative and sustainable airfield solutions aligns with my values. It allows me to contribute to greener and more enduring travel opportunities for myself and future travelers.
Are there any specific projects or tasks you’re particularly passionate about?
To do marketing and sales tasks that even go beyond the Dutch borders, and work with people from different countries!
How can your previous work experiences help you succeed in this company?
I have done an internship at the headquarters of TUI in Rijswijk, an internationally respected tourism company. Although the company does not have many similarities with TKH, I have visited multiple airports and airplanes as part of my internship. I have also worked closely with colleagues from Schiphol en Brussels airport as part of the events organized for my internship.
Can you share one/two interesting fact(s) about yourself?
I am someone who loves to learn languages. At the moment, I speak 5 languages, which are; Dutch, Turkish, English, German, and Korean (although the last two are not that fluent :)). I am also learning Spanish at this moment, which would be my sixth language!
What are some of your favorite weekend activities or hobbies?
Watching football games for sure! I watch mostly 2/3 full matches a day on weekends, and sometimes even 4. 🙂 I follow almost every top European football competition narrowly, watching highlights of matches within these competitions every weekend.
I also love to be with my friends on the weekends. Grab a dinner, go out, go shopping, going to the gym with them, etc. Being with them is a very important aspect of my life, as we always joke around which makes me feel very happy.
Is there a favorite quote or mantra that inspires you in your career or life?
Be better than yesterday.
What’s one piece of advice or insight you’d like to share with your new colleagues?
Probably that I am an easygoing person who is easily approachable. I love to meet and talk with (new) people!
What’s one career achievement that you are most proud of?
Although I don’t have work experience (next to part-time jobs), I would say the minor I am following is currently in South Korea. Living here for 4 months gave me a lot of insights about being with different cultures and people and increasing my Korean and English levels even more. But the main thing I am proud of is that I am studying at the number 1 rated University in Korea, and number 9 in Asia! Studying here can be very hard, but it challenges my motivation, dedication, and general knowledge so much that I gained a lot of valuable insights which I can use in my professional life later on.
