As we return from summer, let’s also refresh our focus on digital security. Recently, we experienced a security incident when company login details were reused on another platform. This shows how even a small action can open the door to big risks.
Here’s how we can all do our part:
- Update your passwords: Use strong, unique combinations of letters, numbers, and symbols. Never reuse your Microsoft/company credentials elsewhere.
- Be cautious with emails: Don’t open unexpected links or attachments without verifying the sender.
- Lock your devices: Even short breaks can give someone an opportunity.
- Install updates promptly: Updates fix security gaps before attackers can exploit them.
Fun fact: A complex, 8-character password (letters + numbers + symbols) could still be cracked in about 7 years with the right tools — which shows why longer, unique passwords matter.
